As part of the current exhibition of Coventry born George Shaws ‘I Woz Ere’ (which runs until 11th March), there was a double bill screening tonight at the Herbert. Firstly was the excellent documentary on George Shaw same name as his exhibition. Made by Jim Turner and Herbert Media. At 45 mins it deserves a BBC Four slot or an Arena logo book ending it. I hope more of an audeince can see this as they have seen George Shaws paintings due to his rise after the Turner Prize nominations this year.

Lomography release the lomokino movie camera. Any camera people out there, dop’s folks interested in various formats. I started out on super 8 > Hi8> Mini DV >DVCam > HDV and now SD and HD cards. Phew…

So lets go back to 35mm proper film, it costs a packet £1k for 1 min for the whole process from buying it to screening it…wow.

Pearce and Powell to lead Team GB

Stuart Pearce and Hope Powell will lead Team GB's Olympic Football teams next summer, having been confirmed as head coaches to the men's and women's squads. Pearce is a former England captain and has managed the England Under-21 team since 2007, leading them to the semi-finals and then the final of the European Championship. Powell has coached England's women for 13 years, including four successive major finals - one of which was Euro 2005 on home soil. Pearce and Powell will be able to select their 18-strong Olympic squads from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
